The House Finch (carpodacus mexicanus) has dramatically expanded its range over the last 50 years, according to Wikipedia – spreading from Mexico and then the Southwestern United States to the entire country. The House Finch is often confused with the Purple Finch; adult males have reddish heads, necks and shoulders, whereas females have brownish coloring.

Let me know what you think...thanks.
